Ella Luhta

Hi! My name is Ella Luhta and I'm 17 years old and an exchange student here  in Monticello. I enjoy doing sports and one of my favorite things to do is traveling. I love trying new things which is why I'm excited about meeting the kids. I signed up for Child Growth and Development because learning about children helps us understand them better and therefore helps us to support their growth and makes us better future parents. My favorite thing about children is how curious and adventurous they are. They are always eager to learn something new.  

Maddisen Miner

Hi my name is Maddisen Miner. I am a junior in high school. I'm 17 years old. My favorite things to do out of school are drawing, playing soccer, and hanging out with friends. I took child growth and development because I love little kids. Helping them learn and seeing them use their imagination. This class will also be a great learning experience for when I am a mom.

Hi, my name is Colleen Westburg. I am 16 years old and a sophomore at Monticello High School. At school I'm involved in a lot of clubs. I like to read, be with my family, and play with my dog. I signed up for Child Growth and Developmemt because I think running a preschool will be fun. My favorite thing about kids is their energy and curiosity. 

Allyson Garrett

Hello! My name is Allyson Garrett. I am 17 and I am a Junior at Monticello High School. I am very athletic and love sports! My favorite sport is soccer. I like hands on activities and any kind of art! I signed up to take child growth and development to learn more about the way children think and play. I love kids and watching them grow up and learn something new every day. My favorite thing about kids is how they make the littlest things interesting and give them a new meaning!

Hi! My name is Ellie Carpenter, I'm 15, and a sophomore at MHS. I'm class Vice President, and involved in band, choir, and theater at school. Outside of school I enjoy reading, writing, and playing music. I wanted to be involved in Child Growth and Development so when I am a parent I will know more about children. I really enjoy playing with kids, especially reading to them or coloring with them!

Hey I'm Collin Worthey. I'm 16 and a junior at Monticello High School. I love to workout, wether it's at the gym/in the weight room or on a nice run. I also like to hangout with friends and love to make jokes and make people laugh.        My name is Paul Dunklau. I'm a junior at Monticello High School and I am seventeen years old. I work as a farmhand on two farms year round. My major interests are gardening and construction. I signed up for Child Growth and Development because it seemed like it would be fun and teach good life skills. My favorite part about kids is how creative they are!

Hello! My name is Abbey Leischner, I am 15 years old as a sophomore in high school. I love playing sports. I play volleyball and run track. I participate in FFA when I can. I also like to go shopping and being outdoors. I enjoy babysitting my nieces, nephews, cousins and family friends. I adore watching kids grow and get excited about the little things. Children never fail to make me laugh with their creative minds!

I took this class because I like spending time with kids, have wanted to become a teacher, and thought this would be a fun way to spend a portion of my day.

Hi, my names Kami and I'm 16 years old. I am a sophomore in high school. I'm a cheerleader, I'm active in the church, and I'm at the gym whenever I can be! I took this class because I love working with children and I hope to be a mom one day. I eventually want to be a cop or a private investigator.

Hi! My name is Emma Reeder. I am 15 years old and a sophomore in school. I am active in athletics and student council. I get straight A's in my classes. My favorite thing to do is go boating in the summer! I took child growth and development because I am interested in learning about children and how to work with them. My favorite thing about children is how creative they can be.

My name is Kennedy Smith. I am 16 and a junior here at monticello high school. I am the libero on the varsity volleyball team, I compete on varsity cheerleading, and I love art. The reason I signed up for child grows and development is because I heard the preschool was a lot of fun and I wanted to learn more about kids so I could become a better parent when I'm older.

My name is Dylan Palmer, I am a Sophmore at Monticello. I am 16 years old. My hobbies include playing basketball, spending time with my friends, and playing with my dog. My favorite subject in school is History. I took this class because because I love spending time with children. I also took this class to learn so that one day I will be the best parent possible.

Hi, my name is Antonella Solis. I'm a junior at Monticello high school. I have recently moved from Florida to the Mid- West (Illinois). At school i am the CFO of the business club, which requires me to come up with fundraisers for my club. I live with my grandparents. When i get out of school i usually hangout with my friends or my boyfriend and i watch Netflix. I signed up for a child growth and development in order to gain knowledge on children in hopes of becoming a pediatric oncologist one day.

Hi my name is Micha Hammerschmidt. I am 16 years old and a Sophomore in high school. Some of my interests include playing softball and soccer. I am in French Club, FEA, and FACS. I like to hangout with my friends and watch Netflix. I joined Child Growth and Development because when I grow up I would like to be a nurse and work with children. My favorite thing about kids is how they entertain themselves so easily. They always keep you on your toes.

Hi! My name is Claudia Karnes. I am 16 years old and I'm a sophomore here at Monticello High School. I love to babysit when I am given the opportunity. I also like to swim in the summer time and I love to play basketball in my free time. I am involved in the Spanish and FACS club at school. I can't wait to work with the preschool kids and learn all about how children grow and develop in unique ways.

My name is Audrie McCabe, I am a junior and my favorite thing to do is spend time with my family and friends. I enjoy the outdoors and going to the barn with my sister. My name is Carlee Wittig. I'm a senior in high school. I am 18 years old. My hobbies include listening to music, spending time with friends, and watching sports. I am the baseball manger for the high school team and enjoy watching other sports as well. I took Child Growth & Development because I love little kids and watching them grow up. I also like to watch them play and get along with each other. I'm so excited to be able to be a part of the preschool this year! Hi. My name is Julia Rogers and I'm 15 years old. I'm a sophomore in high school and i signed up for Child Growth and Development because i like kids. I used baby sit my cousins. They're two, four, and seven. I really enjoyed taking care of them. My favorite thing about kids is that they have an incrediblie imagination.

I signed up for Child Growth and Development because I enjoy children and thought it would be a good learning experience. My favorite thing about kids is they are always excited and happy. My name is Josh Strack and I love to be around kids. I like the energy they bring and I enjoy trying to match it. Sports are my my hobby and football specifically is my favorite sport. I believe the best thing to do in the world is leave a little bit of your legacy through kids.

Hi, my name is Clay Becker and I am a 17 year old senior here at MHS. I love sports and I'm active in football, basketball and track. Football is by far my favorite sport. The reason I signed up for this class is because my aunt teaches the class and I'm good with children.

Blake Cody

I am Blake Cody and a 17 year old Junior at MHS. I used to play football, 3rd grade to 9th grade but them I gave it up for a job. I currently work at Tatman Village, a retirement home. I wash dishes and serve the residents their dinner. I have 3 younger siblings 13, 10 and 7 years old. The youngest  two are boys and the 13 year old  is a girl. So, throughout my life I've cared for infants all the way to the elderly. I am a team player and plays well with all ages and genders. I took this class because it seemed interesting and it seemed like something I'd be great at.

Haley Irina Greenfield

I'm Haley Irina Greenfield, 17 (junior), Monticello High School. 

I have many interests in my life, a few of them are animals, children, technology, fashion, and interior design. These interests of mine are all quite different from one another and yet I have no idea what I would say is my favorite. This year I'm doing track for my first time and I'm really enjoying it. 

I believe one is never too old or too young to learn something new. I also participate in rock climbing and take classes to stay active. Through the sport of rock climbing I have learned to never give up on things that may seem impossible. 

Now, for why I have signed up for this class of Child Growth and Development, is because children the futures of our futures. They have so much to learn and yet, even though we teach them, we (the teachers) learn so much and the kids can teach us many things as well. 

I have worked at an in home daycare every summer for about four years and seeing the kids grow and learn and everything else they do is just so mind blowing to me and very amazing to observe.

I'm very interested in animals and in my free time I ride horses and take care of them I also like hanging out with my friends. I chose this class because I want to be a grade school teacher or something in the career of kids.
